SafeSway Privacy Policy

Short version: SafeSway is designed to avoid unnecessary collection. Email is used for account access: sign-up, verification, recovery and important account notices. Inside the service, users communicate by username.

Data needed for the service

  • Email for sign-up, verification and account recovery.
  • Username and display name if the user chooses to provide them.
  • Password data is not stored in plain text; it is processed in the technical form needed for login verification.
  • Session, device and security data needed for login, account protection and service stability.
  • Support messages or reports if a user sends them.

What we do not do

  • We do not require a phone number for communication.
  • We do not build an advertising profile.
  • We do not sell data to advertising networks.
  • We do not routinely review personal chats manually.
  • We do not require contact-book access to create an account.

Messages and personal chats

SafeSway is built around personal messaging. We do not use personal messages for advertising and do not turn private chats into a moderation queue. If a user contacts support or submits a report, we process what the user provides.

Retention

Account and technical data is kept as long as needed for service operation, security and lawful obligations. If a user requests account deletion, data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect accounts and access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should use strong passwords and avoid entering credentials on copied websites.
