Privacy Policy

SafeSway is designed as a privacy-first messenger. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect, why email is used for sign-up, and how we think about encrypted communication.

1. The short version

  • We use an email address for account creation, verification, password reset, and important security or service notices.
  • We do not require a phone number to create a SafeSway account.
  • We do not intentionally collect your contact book, precise location, or advertising profile to run the messenger.
  • We do not add third-party advertising pixels to this website.
  • Message content is designed to be protected by end-to-end encryption. Some encrypted message data and technical delivery records may still be processed so the service can function.

2. Information you provide

When you sign up, you may provide an email address, username, display name, and password. Your email is used for verification, login security, password recovery, and account-related notices. Your username and display name are used so other users can identify you inside SafeSway.

3. Passwords and authentication

Your password is used to authenticate your account. We do not ask for your password outside the official SafeSway login flow. Session tokens or device identifiers may be stored locally in your browser or app so you can remain signed in.

4. Messages and encrypted content

SafeSway is built for encrypted messaging. Encrypted messages, attachments, delivery events, and synchronization data may transit through or be stored by our infrastructure so the messenger can deliver messages across devices. End-to-end encryption is intended to protect the readable content of your messages from the service operator, but it does not remove all technical data required to operate a messaging network.

5. Technical and security data

Like most online services, SafeSway and its hosting providers may process limited technical data such as IP address, device/session identifiers, timestamps, error logs, browser/app information, and security events. We use this data to operate the service, prevent abuse, diagnose outages, and protect accounts.

6. What we do not use for advertising

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your email, messages, contacts, or in-app behavior to build an advertising profile. We do not include third-party ad pixels in the static website files delivered with this policy.

7. Cookies and local storage

The web app may use local storage, session storage, cookies, or similar browser technologies to remember sessions, store app state, and keep the messenger usable. The landing pages are designed without advertising trackers.

8. Sharing information

We may share limited information with infrastructure providers that help host, secure, or deliver the service; when required by law; to protect SafeSway, users, or the public from abuse; or as part of a business transfer if the service is reorganized. We do not sell user data to advertisers.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep account information for as long as needed to provide the service, secure accounts, comply with obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion or ask privacy questions by contacting privacy@safesway.com.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service evolves. For privacy questions, contact privacy@safesway.com. Before launch, confirm that this email and the operating legal entity are correct for your deployment.
